Our Consumer Group

We, at Mater Research, are committed to meaningful consumer and community involvement throughout our Musculoskeletal Research Program to help shape the way we conduct research studies. By partnering with people with lived experience, carers, and community members, we ensure research priorities, design, conduct and outcomes reflect the needs and perspectives of those most impacted, leading to more relevant, effective and impactful research. Further details on the Mater Research Health Consumer Network and information about joining the network is available here.

“ Osteoporosis is a silent disease, and people are often not aware that they have it until they suffer a fracture. Osteoporotic fractures can have devastating consequences for individuals. When a friend asked me to join the Musculoskeletal Consumer Advisory Group I was happy to get involved. I bring my experience as a healthcare professional and as a person who has witnessed how debilitating this disease can be from affected family members and friends. ”
